Well, in two days I've not only ruined the iron but broke the sewing machine! Yes, folks, if you veer off and hit the metal tab of the zipper it WILL snap the needle like a twig and send metal flying. Thank goodness I wear glasses, a piece hit me in the cheek as it flew past. On the plus side, my office is now vacuumed really really REALLY well and I found a lost bobbin under the desk.
SO... I'm stuck til I can get back to Joanne's for a new needle.

Well, got the needle replaced and think I am improving at getting the zipper ends to look fairly tucked in and nice looking on the ends.

NOW. I am all gungho to go to the fabric store again tomorrow morning because I have this sudden urgent desire to make my own dishtowels so I can stop buying so many paper towels. I'm thinking flannel... unless anyone has any better suggestions for a material?
