My plan is to become more fiscally responsible and aware in 2016. The first step for me is to install Quicken on my computer and set it up to track our finances. It will let me keep track of the big picture by keeping all the loose ends and bits in one place.

The second goal for this month is to severely curtail eating out. This goes hand in hand with my health goals. The less I eat out, the easier it is for me to stay on target.

The final goal for January is to evaluate all the "auto payments" that are being made.

dh and I went over the budget after the overtime
layoff and move home. We continued to get higher
checks for 3 checks. after the move, so we had to
wait to get the actual numbers

We have money to pay all the bills, plus all the charitable
donations that I had started, a decent allowance for both of us,
some eating out money occasionally and savings for several
items. The hardest part is the cutback in the eating out, but I
    can live with that.

I am aiming for 1) a $1000 emergency fund, 2/3) car and house
maintenance also at that level and maybe same amount on 4/5
    medical and dental.

One special project, if I can save $50.00 from the budgeted $250.00
eow grocery budget, I will put it into a 52 week challenge envelope.
It was the only thing that had to be dropped from the budget, and I
want to save it if we can.
