Thread: Aren't these "Fetching"?

    Default Aren't these "Fetching"?

I just knitted these fingerless gloves for my sister (purplepuppypwr) to keep her hands warm. In Tucson, they crank the AC in public places, so many who live here end up bringing a light sweater or jacket with them to restaurants. After 30 minutes of the AC blowing down your neck, you're frozen!

"Fetching" is the name of the pattern.

Those turned out cute! I would really like to get a ball of that wool and try it out. Maybe I'll go get a treat this weekend.

Here's my "single" of Fetching. I don't like the picot edge on mine and I want it a little bit longer, so I'm going to make two more and use the same top edge as you did, I think, plus a couple rows in the center.

I think you'll love the wool I used - it's Malabrigo Merino Worsted. Very warm and comfy, very soft.

Lisa asked for a modification to them, so I made them with an extra cable repeat at the knuckles, and then made "fingers" by fastening the top & bottom edges together in three places. This prevents the curling that happens from hand motion.

This weekend, I'll try to get a photo of her wearing them.

You're cracking me up ladies - whilst I can see the wonderful benefits of them, I'm still faced with the reality that they are fingerless gloves and as such I remember wearing them circa late 1980's Culture Club/Cindy Lauper/Madonna style - ok they were lace but they were still fingerless gloves

I am evil ~~ I acknowledge and embrace that fact!!

I tried a ball of the Malabrigo Merino Worsted for this pair of Fetching. So soft! Warm and fuzzy. Christmas gift #1 done!

It's lovely to work with. I may find a color I like and make me a pair, too. You know, eventually...
