Well, I decided on Teddy's new pet... we're getting a cricket!

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crickets_as_pets

    done:
    floor pickup and mop

    errands:
    went to the bank
went to the pet store- bought a large critter keeper, some sand, a shallow dish, and some dog cookies
went to the grocery store - got stamps, manila envelopes, and a couple things for lunch/dinner, left my list at home and was tired by then so kept it short. Also found some cute little cardboard baking trays half off that will make excellent cricket huts. Green with trees. So cute!

    to do:
set up the cricket farm -
    rinse tank
make an expedition into the backyard for bark, terra cotta, mosaiced articles, etc
read over some care articles more thoroughly... looks like they eat anything (they did have cricket food for sale at the pet store) ... I now have two cages so I can put him in a fresh one each day... paper and sand substrate... they need super shallow water or a sponge... I need a dedicated mister... plants...

Apparently crickets only live two months. The males are the ones who sing. Also the lady at the pet store said they're sold by the dozen. I asked her if I paid for a dozen would they let me just take one.
Will have to work that out later.
