Default Anyone else starting to have Christmas fever?

It dawned on me earlier, heck, I only have 2 paychecks left before Christmas. Oh my, I had better get busy. I did some surfing on ebay today for the MP3 player and bluetooth, flip phone Madison wants. No bids made yet as I need to wait a week or so when it will be closer to payday.

I won't give it a thought till November 23rd. I have all of one gift purchased, just something I came up on that was marked down. I am, after all, the bah humbug person.

Christmas fever? Not yet ... but I am working on my gifts. Can't talk here - at least one of the recipients is a frequent visitor!

That would be Doggie, Zip, Frog or myself. :www_MyEmoticons_com__kitty:

Was thinking I would get my poop in a group and have my Christmas presents for my EDSW all together (and maybe wrapped) before I leave for Tucson.

Ack! You mean I have to do that by then, too??

I don't know that it's Christmas fever yet...but I did tell my kids today that I would now entertain thoughts about what they'd like for Christmas (just couldn't think about that before Halloween!)

I also got a gift for my grandmother, who I will see next weekend, and may not see again before Christmas. Need something for my aunt and uncle as well....

I don't have fever, but have started working on things. This year is going to be unbelievably hectic for the last few months and I have to make sure I get things to people on the mainland in time. I don't want to worry about anything after Thanksgiving except tying up the loose ribbons so I can focus on the other things that are going to make life hectic.

Yup, Yuletide fever big time. I have to really focus on Thanksgiving (which i also love and we are hosting!) but that Christmas thing is going 90 miles an hour in the back of my mind. I actually have a few things bought and picked out some more this wkend so we will see how things go!

I have a Christmas prep list that starts in September - I'm a bit behind this year due to a busy time at work but doing ok. I ordered some gifts online about 10 days ago and those are either arriving or already here. I went into my gift stash and inventoried it on Saturday so I now know fully where I stand giftwise.

For me, it's a sanity saver. My Ds11 plays ice hockey and that knows no season so we end up busy with that every weekend regardless. My two Ds8 play basketball. They are in a new league this year and I have no idea what that schedule will even look like. I work full time, as does dh. Both Ds8 do Boy Scouts, where I am the pack secretary. If I want to have a chance of keeping all those balls up in the air AND create the holiday I desire, I need to start now.

I think of Christmas 365 days a year... the 25th December is my favourite day of the year and I drive my darling partner nearly insane each and every year with my decorating and need to go and look at lights around the neighbourhood!

I've done most of my shopping throughout the year, the decorations go up in the first week of December and the cards are ready for writing and get sent the first week of December.... menu is generally planned (there are some dishes I have to make otherwise I'd have to spend the whole following year making amends :lolcoffee: ) and we know what we are doing on the day ..... so its reasonable well planned already

LOVE Christmas, it is my favorite holdiday. Kinda concerned because my dh and I walked into Walgreens the other day and saw Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas items all out at the same time......when are we going to start combining them all into one holiday....Hallowthanksmas????

BTW, My poor doggie Oscar was suppose to get a knitted sweater two years ago for Christmas from a certain someone on this site..... I see the sadness in his eyes when Maggie gets to put on her purple sweater and he has to slink around in a store bought t-shirt (poor puppy)

I love Christmas...it is all magical and exciting. I suddenly realised today that Tahnee will be on school holidays as of the 24th Nov...so I had better get my butt into gear and start shopping for presents.

Today was a recon mission on getting an idea what Sofia wanted. I took her to Walmart and took pictures with my phone ! I have them uploaded to my email so that I can edit them and then post them on Flicker for her Grands to see.
I am getting ready to light the back porch again . The purple lights, orange pumpkin lights and glowing skeletons went down this week. I have chili peppers to go up instead. I think I will add some white twinkler's to that. I have c-7's for the roof- but we shall see if Bo and I can manage to get them up there.
I want to get pics of the kids done-something casual and not so formal looking. We had that done last year-this needs to be more fun.
Decorations will go up the week of Thanksgiving as the inlaws arrive Dec 1 for a one week stay.

Karis, I specify with the photog when I take the boys in that I do not want a 'formal' shot. I want something that shows their personalities - last year they were all laying down, partially on top of each other. Ds11 has his arms up behind his head, all relaxed like.

This year all three are standing. Ds11 in the middle, with his arms crossed and a big smile. Ds8's on each side, thumb hooked in their jean pockets - all that and a bag of chips, lol.

This saturday brave intrepid soul that i am I am taking all 4 kids to Sears for the Xmas photo shoot. I always try to get the earliest possible appt because my eldest is autistic and waiting drives him nuts and makes him even less tolerant of the inevitable touching and moving of him to get a shot. This is probably a fairly standard looking photo as it will be our first one with Elisabeth. We have lots of family candids of the kids and last year we just took a pic at home of the boys all wearing antlers and printed our holiday greetings on that.

Today I ordered the snowboard for Robbie, a baseball bat for him and a couple of games. Oh and the boxed set of Lost in Space for the oldest son. Getting there! Lee

Oh my goodness.

I did get holiday cards made despite ds's best efforts to escape during the photo shoot. But I think I want to put together something more fun via shutterfly, too. Other than that, I haven't started thinking about stuff, probably because there's no snow on the ground!!

Oh, Kimberley, about mailing things to the mainland, you can shave a day off the transit time by mailing stuff from the airport post office.

I haven't even begun. With the house hunt, moving , and stress of the problems in the apartment complex, I just am not in the mood.

My first order of business will be to pull out the Christmad DVD collection after we move .. A Christmas Carol always gets me in the mood.

No formal Christmas presents will be bought this year .. we will be spending mucho bucks on furniture and misc. for the new place. The kids can just think of us putting them up for days/weeks as their Christmas *S*

After we are in the house, we will buy icycles for the outside, maybe some nets now that we have bushes and our regular decorating schedule.

This year is our 25th anniversay. I plan to have a formal photo done to commemorate it. It may be made into a holiday card and that should suffice. I was hoping for some kinda of "party" but no one has asked or shown an interest.
